A Home Remedy that helps Stop Coughing Immediately on a Child!! A Must Read!!

Last night I was at my wits end!!  My son was sleeping in his room and every few minutes he was tossing and turning and coughing up a storm.  I felt so bad for him and something had to be done immediately.   I went on line researching how to get a toddler to stop coughing since we cannot give them any medicine.

I cam across an article on how doctor's found great results in reducing a child's night time cough by rubbing Vicks Vapor Rub on their feet, then putting the kid's socks on, and letting them go to bed. In this article it stated that not only were they getting good results, but the Vicks technique was working 100% of the time. Hmmmmmm, Time to test.  I did not want to put the actual Vicks Vapor rub on his feet so I used the Vicks Baby Rub Soothing Ointment.

I have a 3.5 year old who was coughing last night so I decided to give the Vicks Baby Rub a shot. I went into his room and started applying the Vicks to the bottom of his feet and put socks over it.    He did not wake up when I was applying it and he stopped coughing immediately and did not cought all night long!!  I tell you this because the results were amazing. After I applied the Vicks, but before the socks were even on I noticed that his coughing subsided and his breathing was deeper. He had literally stopped coughing all together!

I am amazed!  I can't believe how well this works, but I wanted to share it with other parents out there knowing that a good night's sleep is like gold for both you and your child!

Simply a-MAIZE-ing at the Sauchuk Farm's Corn Maze!!

This year for Fall I wanted to do something a little something festive but different.  We decided to check out Sauchuck Farm’s Corn Maze in Plympton.   It was a blast!!

Get ready to get lost!!  Sauchuck Farm has an 8 acre corn maze that was tricky at times.  We ended up laughing so hard because there was a time when we looped around 3 times in the same area of the maze without even knowing it.   Inside the maze there were  two bridges within the maze to look for your way out.  The only problem was I could not figure out how to get to the bridges.  I came close a few times but I was on the wrong paths. They have different flags set up of countries throughout the maze and the kids had a lot of fun trying to find every flag in the mazeJ.
Don't Forget to taste the Cider Donuts
There is plenty for the kids to do besides the maze.  There are trivia booths set up, free face painting, a cow train the kids get to ride through the corn and there is also a hayride.  Everyone can go on the hayride and pick out a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.   We have all heard of sandboxes but at Sauchuck Farm there is a corn box that the kids will enjoy playing in the grains of corns.   I do not know who had more fun me or the 11 kids we went with.  Be prepared to run around, have fun and get lostJ.  Perfect day for family fun!

Sweet Lemons is Simply Delicious!!

One thing I struggle with is I get bored very easily with food!! I always love to try new restaurants and make new recipes.  On the other hand my husband has his favorite go to dishes that he can eat over and over again.

The other night I was craving Thai food and came across a place called Sweet Lemons.  I have seen them located in multiple locations but have not actually stopped there to try them out.

Sweet Lemons has the BEST Thai Food around on the South Shore!!
My Friend and I tired their Mango Curry and the Chicken Pad Thai and my husband tried the Entree Up to You combination and he ate every bite!  He choose chicken and rice stir fry mixed with assorted vegetables tossed in a Korean Sauce.  He could not stop talking about how tasty it was.

If you are looking for something tasty that is fresh and healthy that is reasonably priced you have to try Sweet Lemons.

I am a Mom on the go so I sometimes do not have time to make a good dinner and the last thing I want to do is sit in a restaurant.  I was so happy to find  Sweet Lemons that is filled with a variety of fresh healthy food that is Simply Delicious!!

FALL is here but Do not FALL off your Fitness Routine!

Many of us are excited that fall is here!!  We love the foliage, pumpkin everything, football and many us love the all the amazing meals and treats that come along with not only the fall and holiday season.

For many of us it is a time to FALL off of our fitness routine!

I have been taking a Body Pump class by Les Mills at my local gym and I love it!!  It is an original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for – and fast! A new class is released every three months with new music and choreography so you do not get bored.

For the Golfers in the area it is getting into the season they dread when they have to bundle up or they freeze.   There is a trainer on the South Shore who is running a golf clinic.   The Golfers experience a workout routine that will guarantee longer drives, lower scores, and the ability to play pain and injury free.  They cover effective warmups, stretches, cardio/strength conditioning exercises and drills that will build the strength, endurance, flexibility and balance that will guarantee improvements to your game  It thought this sounded interesting for golfers.

We want to know what is Everyone doing in an around the South Shore for their workout routines during this season?  Please share with us.  We would love to be inspired by your comments.

Touch a Truck was a Huge Success!!

What an amazing day at the Chapman Middle School in Weymouth.

Many families and friends in and around the community go together for a day of fun and raised money for Foster Care.  All of the proceeds from this event are donated to the Friends of Foster Care Fund in order to recruit amazing foster parents and enrich the lives of children in care.  Thank you to all the people out there who truly make a difference.

Kids got to explore dozens of trucks, buses, and race cars.  Although there sound of honking of horns was going on for a few hours the children had priceless smiles on their faces :).  The kids also got to enjoy face painting, tattooing, and other miscellaneous games.

What a great day for a great cause!
